EFFECT OF FLUORIDE CONTAMINATION ON MICROBIAL ENZYMATIC ACTIVITY IN SOIL

چکیده
The accumulation of environmental contaminant such as fluoride in wetlands especially rice fields is increasing drastically by the action fertilizers, pesticides, mining, waste disposal, and atmospheric pollution which Kuttanad, unique tropical wetland agro ecosystem not an exception. Accumulation excess F- environment poses serious burden to all organisms. Since soil microbial enzymes respond more quickly various conditions management practices than any other quality parameters thus used detect early changes health. In view this, activities involved biogeochemical cycles urease, protease, dehydrogenase, arylsulphatase, acid alkaline phosphatase were investigated. Result showed thatF- had inhibitory effect on activity studied possibly due adverse microorganisms.

Distribution of chromium contamination and microbial activity in soil aggregates.
Biogeochemical transformations of redox-sensitive chemicals in soils can be strongly transport-controlled and localized. This was tested through experiments on chromium diffusion and reduction in soil aggregates that were exposed to chromate solutions. Reduction of soluble Cr(VI) to insoluble Cr(II) occurred only within the surface layer of aggregates with higher available organic carbon and hi...
متن کاملEffect of Cadmium and Magnesium on Enzymatic Activity in Soil
The purpose of this study was to use magnesium (50 and 100 mg Mg kg-1) to neutralise possible negative effects of soil contamination with cadmium (10, 20, 30 and 40 mg Cd kg-1) on the enzymatic activity
متن کاملSoil Contamination by Chromium and Its Enzymatic Activity and Yielding
The effect of chromium (VI) on the activity of dehydrogenases, urease, acid and alkaline phosphatases and the yield of lupine was assayed in a pot experiment. Chromium was applied as K2Cr2O7 in the amounts of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 100 and 150 in mg · kg of soil. The tests were conducted on brown leached soil from slightly dusty clay sand of pH in 1 M KCl 5.80. Soil was inoculated with nitragin...
متن کاملMicrobial and enzymatic activity of soil contaminated with azoxystrobin
The use of fungicides in crop protection still effectively eliminates fungal pathogens of plants. However, fungicides may dissipate to various elements of the environment and cause irreversible changes. Considering this problem, the aim of the presented study was to evaluate changes in soil biological activity in response to contamination with azoxystrobin. The study was carried out in the labo...
